A central information desk (tel: 502 367 4636) is located in the
middle of the lower level and is open seven days a week.
Airport facilities
A bank (tel: 502 366 2616) is located on the upper level of the
Landside Terminal and ATMs can be found in both terminals. The
airport also has telephones, restaurants and cafés, a shoeshine
shop, a sports shop, a travel agents, various bookshops, a gift
shop, a toy shop, left luggage and a post office.
Disabled facilities
The airport has specially-designed ramps and kerbs, and lifts
fitted with Braille control buttons. There is one TDD and volume
controls on all telephones, which are wheelchair-accessible.
Guide dogs are permitted in the terminal buildings, as well as
on aircraft. For wheelchairs and assistance with boarding,
disabled passengers should contact their airline. Two
nine-passenger chauffeured electric carts and a 310ft escalator
transport passengers to/from gates. Reduced-rate disabled
parking is available in the covered car park, close to lifts.
Conference and business facilities
Carlson Wagonlit Business Travel Center (tel: 800 626 2717) hire
out a conference room, which can seat up to eight people. They
can also provide overhead projectors, telephones, computers,
work stations, fax and photocopying machines. Carlson Wagonlit
travel agents (502 585 3085) is located on the upper level of
the Landside Terminal.
Car rental
There are eight car rental companies at the airport: Alamo,
Avis, Budget, Dollar, Hertz, Enterprise, National and Thrifty.
The car rental check-in desks are located on the lower level of
the Landside Terminal. Return areas for hire cars are located
within walking distance, next to the west end of the main
airport building.
Car parking
There is space for 2400 cars at the airport in a covered car
park and a long-term car park operated by APCOA (tel: 502 363
3490). Free shuttles run from the long-term car park to the
terminal building every 15 minutes. Passengers parked in the
covered car park can access the terminals from the lower level,
via a subway.
Driving directions
The airport is located at the junction of I-65 and I-264. From
Nashville, it can be reached from the I-65 North, leading to
I-264 West, exit 131. From Lexington, it can be reached from
I-64 West, which leads to I-264 West, exit 11. From St Louis, it
can be accessed from I-64 East to I-264 East (exit 1) to exit
11. From Cincinnati, the airport can be reached from the I-71
South leading to exit 131. From the area surrounding Louisville,
the airport can be reached by taking Preston Highway, which
leads to Phillips Lane. Drivers should continue west along
Phillips Lane and then turn left onto the Freedom Way ramp and
follow signs for the airport.
Public transport and taxis
Numerous taxi companies serve the airport, including City Cab
Company (tel: 502 494 8863), Derby City Cab Company (tel: 502
454 5455) and First Class Cabs (tel: 502 231 8110). Buses also
operate between Louisville and the airport. Limousines can also
be hired from Ambassador Capital Limousine (tel: 502 964 7139),
