As the major air center for the
Capital Region, Northeastern New York and Western New England,
the Albany International Airport offers a wide-range of
facilities and services. A recently completed multi-million
dollar capital redevelopment project included a new 230,000
square foot terminal, parking garage, Air Traffic Control Tower
and cargo facility. The airport has also embarked on a five-year
$232 million Capital Plan to improve and maintain safety and to
meet the needs of air travelers and air carriers well into the
21st Century.

Interstate Highways 90 and 87.

24 hour TRACON equipped Air Traffic Control Tower.
Runways:
North/South Preferential and Instrument Runway 01/19 - 7,200 ft
x 150 ft.
Cross-wind Runway 10/28 - 6,000 ft x 150 ft.
Elevation - 275 ft. Studies are underway to increase the runway
lengths to 8,500 and 7,600 ft.
Note: The airport was awarded the prestigious 1996 Balchen-Post
Award for Outstanding Achievement in Airport Snow and Ice
Control for U.S. Medium Commercial Airports.
